Dear readers,
As ever we rely on your support. Today’s special is for our paying subscribers. It looks at how plans to dramatically expand the north eastern edge of Yeovil have come unstuck. And in the process the narrative of events appears to have been accidentally or deliberately confused. And with it some degree of democratic accountability.
You can subscribe for these paid for article in Leveller Confidential for £6 a month, or if you pay for a year’s subscription upfront, it’s £30 a year. Which we hope you’ll agree is good value for good journalism. I hope you’ll join us: it’s about being part of a community, and doing something for the future.
Thanks to all of you for your support. We can’t do what we do without you.

In 2019 South Somerset District Council (SSDC) considered a planning application for some 765 houses to be built as an urban extension to the town of Yeovil. This is a massive development that if approved, would add 5% to the population of the town at a stroke.
